Since nobody is posting…
Several of us (primarily AlexM and I) have teamed up to produce a unique sourcebook for Team Policy debate. From the website:
“Face it: this year’s resolution is, by NCFCA standards, ridiculously broad. There are literally thousands of possible cases. That’s why COG is the first and only NCFCA sourcebook to consist entirely of generic briefs. We all know that cases evolve and diversify over the course of the season; case-specific briefs you get from sourcebooks at the beginning of the season will likely be outdated by the end of it. Generic briefs, on the other hand, can be applied to many different cases without losing their power.”
You can find out more information on the COG 2009 website. Currently, we’re looking at a release date of “fall-ish”, so it should be available by the time the season really gets started.
Briefs include broad-scale issues such as federalism, alternative energy, global warming, endangered species, free-market vs. government regulations, and much more – not to mention source indictments, funding sources, definitional references, etc.
We’ve also launched a debater resource, the COGblog, where various people will be posting debate-related articles, tips, and general fun stuff. (If you wish to contribute, we’re always looking for content!)

That’s cool, guys! What does COG stand for? Or is that info there somewhere and I totally just zoned it?
Nothing.
This sourcebook is supposed to be a cog in the “machine” of your debate box.
Yeah. What he said.
